My name is Cathy Turney, and I am married to MyHusbandTheEngineer. I have a codependent relationship with my dogs. I have a phobia about technology and social media. By the grace of God, I end each day having found the humor in all this. Telling you is cathartic.
Engineers are the most useful creatures on our planet, but they have a dark side: they are too capable. They can make mere mortals fee inferior. Not intentionally—no! It’s just that whenever a lesser being does something that an engineer could do better (everything), the engineer must “fix” it. They make great fodder for humor stories.
My dogs are so misbehaved, I wrote a book about them (Dog Stories, Hilarious Tales of a Codependent Pet Owner). My struggles with technology are legend: the password to my web site is “IHATETHISWEBSITE.” My hobbies are stringing beads and ironing because they’re mindless and give me something to show for my time.
I’m currently finding the humor in my real estate career in Laugh Your Way to Real Estate Sales Success, for Real Estate Agents, WannaBes, UsedToBes, and Those Who Love Them, due out when I finish it.
I hope you enjoy my columns because, as I said, talking to you is cathartic.
